Privacy policy

The short version

Actual Video Time Left processes the minimum video and caption information needed to provide its features on your device. It runs automatically on its default YouTube and Vimeo site allowlist. The developer does not operate a backend for the extension and does not receive, sell, or use your viewing data for advertising or analytics.

Information processed locally

While active on a page, the extension may process video duration and current time, playback speed and state, timed caption cues when available, the page hostname, and limited YouTube channel identifiers. This information is used only to calculate actual time remaining, time saved, speech-rate estimates, dynamic speed, and user-created channel rules.

This information is not transmitted to the developer or to a developer-controlled service.

Settings and Chrome Sync

The extension stores your enabled state, playback profiles, caption-control preferences, and YouTube channel rules with the Chrome storage API. If Chrome Sync is enabled in your browser, Google Chrome may sync those settings between your signed-in browsers under Google's own terms. The developer cannot access your Chrome Sync account or synced values.

What we do not do

• No developer analytics or tracking.
• No ads or sale of data.
• No caption, page-address, viewing-history, or page-content uploads.
• No cross-user profiling or collaborative speed recommendations.
• No remote code or external processing service.
• No human access to your extension data.

Retention and deletion

Temporary video and caption information is held in page memory only while needed. Saved settings remain in Chrome storage until you change them, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension. Chrome may separately retain synced settings according to your browser account configuration.

Security and limited use

The extension's handling of information is limited to providing and improving the single-purpose playback-timer experience described in its listing. It does not use information for credit, lending, advertising, or unrelated profiling.
